Take Back Your Privacy Foundation achieves its first victory in case against TikTok: the court has ruled that it has jurisdiction to rule on the Foundation's claims against TikTok. TikTok's request to stay the proceedings was denied. TikTok also cannot appeal the judgment at this time. See here for a more comprehensive update on the judgment.

On October 10, 2022, the first hearing took place. At issue was whether the Dutch court may rule on the claims against TikTok (TBYP believes it may) and if so, whether the case should nevertheless be stayed (TBYP believes it should not). The court will rule on this issue on November 9, 2022. TBYP is confident that the case will proceed to the next stage.

The Take Back Your Privacy Foundation has started a lawsuit against TikTok with the support of the Consumers' Association.
