Big Tech: Gatekeeping the Digital Markets

On May 9, 2022 Friederike van der Jagt had the honour to give the opening lecture on behalf of TBYP at the symposium “Big Tech: Gatekeeping the Digital Markets” of the study association Sirius of the Utrecht Law College. With around 100 active students participating, it was a good opportunity to discuss social media use among young people and to draw attention to the (proper) handling of personal data. By participating in these kinds of symposia and congresses TBYP continues to draw attention to the right to privacy and the lawsuit it is pursuing against TikTok in cooperation with the Dutch consumer organization the Consumentenbond and tries to contribute to the social debate.
